I went out for my first star photography shoot tonight. It was mostly for practicing the technique, so I didn’t drive out quite as far as I would on a more planned and prepared night. Still, I got a fair number more stars than I would have if I’d stayed in my backyard. I’m looking forward to when it gets warmer because I won’t get so cold staying out more than an hour, and although it’s possible to see the Milky Way in Winter, it can be pretty faint because you’re looking outward instead of inward like in Summer.
